Now for my card :-)
I have always enjoyed making special folds card when I can and for this one I chose the center step fold and as you can see I have used the Flamingo Bay #512P6 stamp set, it remind of when I first saw "Pink" Flamingo two years ago in California... I've never seen a Flamingo before and a "Pink" one!!! Pretty awesome!
Here we go:
- I layered my mat using pink and blue card stock and embossing the blue with Anna Griffins embossing folder, rubbing green ink using my finger on the embossed designs. Then I used gesso and my fingers to create a clouds scene on the blue card stock, giving the illusion of the stamp image continuing.
- I colored my image using Prisma color Pencils, added Crystal Ice glitters to the wings of the Flamingo, the petals of the Lotus flowers, pink butterfly on my sentiment and the ripples in the water. For the Lotus flower center I used Carnation glitters, Evening Glow for the sun and for the butterflies and dragon fly Champagne. I add a touch of glossy accents to the eyes of the Flamingo :-)
- Next I fussy cut both edges of the stamp image to bring some interest to the grass in the scene. Also colored an extra set of Flamingos and fussy cut them and pop them up using 3D Foam Squares - Variety Pack White so two flamingos are placed in the front of the card one on the left and other on the right, the third one placed at back left panel so when the card is displayed he looks further away in the background.
- For my sentiment I used a ticket punch and added a tiny butterfly.
- Inside I used Spellbinders die labels two and fussy cut one of the Flamingo.
I hope you enjoyed my card and looking forward to seeing you all over at the SNS Creative Challenges.
Thanks for stopping by :-)

Hi Kim, Thanks forthe lovely comments :-) It's a center step card so when it's open to stand for display, the center/front automatically sticks out... Here is the tutorial on how to create it http://sparklensprinkle.com/techniques_detail.php?title_keyword=fun Copy and paste this link in your browser.

ReplyDeleteOMG. I just love flamingos and this card just beats all. Your techniques, choice of colors and sparkle are perfect. If I saw this card for sale I would definitely purchase it. Great job Steff. I love looking at other people's interpretation of a scene. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty-I love all the sparkles that are definitely sprinkled about. You are very talented, and I also like the card of the friends walking in the rain, splashing in puddles with their bright yellow slickers, boots and yellow umbrellas. My mom paid to have my yard decorated in 40 flamingos for my 40th birthday and I was so angry! When I called her on the phone and started ranting what nut would have done this, imagine my surprise by hearing her crying!! I had no idea it was she who did it, as they were very rusty and when I saw them in my yard at night, I removed them throwing them to the side of the driveway. But in the morning, there they were all out there again. She confessed that the firm told her they would be "delivered" so when she drove by and saw them at the side of the driveway, she hobbled all over the yard putting them in again with a huge sign saying, "Turning 40 is for the birds", so that could be a fun sentiment on a card. TFS!
ReplyDeleteSincerely, Suetta
Your card is amazing! TFS!
